Rockin' on the river

This project stands out as one of our favorites and without a doubt one of the most beautiful settings we’ve been able to create a motocross track in. We carved this track into a hillside along the Susquehanna River in Port Deposit, Maryland. The site had a significant amount of slope, so grading for drainage was minimal - installing 80 linear feet of drain culvert beneath the track surface in areas that would restrict storm water runoff, making the site functional from a drainage standpoint. We were fortunate to have a generous working depth of soil and slope, allowing us to make large cuts into the existing grade – making it possible to create large track features and elevation change. As we finished and stood at the highest point on the track, we looked down at a precision cut motocross track; dirt glistening as the sun was setting, the contours of the track rolling down the hillside and into the river as its backdrop. It was a stunning view!
