A portion of this 3.5-acre site was once a horse arena. Knowing that we would be excavating pit run at a depth of 12” we stripped and staged sand from the horse arena to be used for top-coat return after we had the core of the track built. We cut the grade down 12-16” to generate fill for the track features. Having virtually no slope on the site, we excavated basins in the infield areas of the track to manage storm water and used the material generated from the basins for regrading of the site. A few preliminary steps taken on the front side of this project really made for a quality finish.
