Thomson, Georgia might only be acknowledged once a year when the world’s best golfers travel to nearby Augusta National Golf Club for The Masters golf tournament. However, Thomson is home to one of the more picturesque private motocross tracks in the country.

The MX Track Builders team had the privilege of traveling to the Montana capital of Helena to create a custom motocross track, understanding there were two clear objectives. Build a challenging and safe track, and do so in a timeframe where the silty native soil could be formed before dry, arid conditions set in.

We traveled to La Luz, New Mexico to build a hybrid motocross/supercross track for a family with aspirations of racing at the highest amateur level. The MX Track Builders team processed roughly 300,000 gallons of water to turn chalky dry soil into moldable clay perfect for building a durable track. The four-acre circuit featured a variety of obstacles that exceeded customer expectations.
